It is best to have a snack prior to arrival time and drink a glass of water. Please be sure to wear something comfortable with short sleeves. Plan on our visit to be an hour.
The insertion of the IV can be uncomfortable. Once the inital poke is completed, the drip part is painless. Veins can spasm at times but we can adjust the flow to make sure the infusion is comfortable.
If you have difficult veins we can try a few times to see if we can cannulate your vein. It is up to you. If we are not able to obtain venous access you will be refunded all but the telehealth funds. We keep that for our gas and travel time to cover our expenses. Sometimes when we are sick, we are not eating and drinking enough, this can cause your vasculature to be flat, we can always attempt to pump your volume with oral intake and try again. It is up to you.
Bruising is common at the site. You may get a bruise or could have a hematoma develop. In rare cases there can be an infiltrate where fluid escapes into the surrounding tissues. Bruising and hematomas will dissipate over a couple of weeks. A fluid infiltrate will reabsorb over the next few days.
Of course, we will be monitoring you the entire time and will discontine the drip should we see this complication happening.
Most clients will have a small poke site that will heal after a few days.
Following your treatment you should plan on taking it easy for a few hours. Normal daily activities are fine. I would avoid strenuous activity for a few hours. You may find yourself having to use the bathroom more as you flush out. Some patients report mild puffiness. This usually resolves in a day or so.You will need to wear your bandage on your IV site for a few hours. It is ok to shower after a few hours.
Yes, this is safe treatment. We are licensed clinicians with experinece. IV therapies are real medicines and you will be monitored the entire time. This is not a local spa or clinic with low regulation and oversight. We take your health and our responsibility serious. This is why you will complete the telehealth exam and review your medical history. We need to be sure that you are healthy and mitigate any complications.
Yes, we source and order all products from a Idaho licensed pharmacy. We do not endorse products that are sourced from other countries or research sites. That is a dangerous unregulated process. You will recieve real pharmacuticals. You are paying for purity and pharmacuticals that are ethical.
We love our fur babies but they can get protective when they see us come in with our equipment. We do ask that you keep your pets contained while we visit so we have a safe environment to deliver your treatment.
Depending on the treatment you receive, you could have some side effects. Your nurse will go over some potential side effects you may feel with the treatment recieved. Most patients feel nothing but better!
